EIWA SEIKO PATENT SHIP-LOG is a traditional mechanical marine navigation instrument designed to accurately measure a vessel’s speed and distance traveled through water. Widely used on merchant ships, training vessels, and classic ships, this log operates without electricity, making it highly reliable and suitable for long-term marine service.
This unit consists of a towed rotor (impeller) that is streamed astern using a calibrated line. As the vessel moves, the rotor spins proportionally to the ship’s speed. The rotation is transmitted mechanically to the brass dial indicator, which displays speed (knots) and accumulated distance (nautical miles).
The set is manufactured using marine-grade brass components for corrosion resistance and durability in harsh sea conditions. It is supplied as a complete kit, including rotor, towing line, fittings, indicator assembly, spare parts, and a wooden storage box for safe handling and storage when not in use.
